The problem is that when you go through these steps, you are on autopilot. You are not in the now, you are in the past. You are not even aware that you are repeating the same thing over and over and over again. It is important to break out of the cycles of thinking and acting, especially the mental ones. We are all on autopilot, but we can change our habits. We can create a habit that will make us less prone to getting distracted and instead learn to become more aware of how we are thinking and acting.
