A lot of this is the emotional buying motive. This is why we buy things that we think we need to have. The rational buying motive is where we buy something we need to have for our own benefit. For example, we might buy something to look smart. To get something done, we might buy something that will improve our performance.
This is a personal preference, but the rational buying motive probably comes into it more often than the emotional buying motive. There are many ways to look smart, and many ways to improve performance. Even if we buy something to look smart, we probably still buy to have it.
The emotional buying motive is buying because we want to be liked and have something we like. We might also buy to have a certain personality or something that we’re proud of. This is a more common motive than the rational buying motive.
The rational buying motive is buying because we actually want something. These are usually more likely to be the emotional buying motive. We want something that we find valuable or enjoyable. We also want something that we value, like fame or status.
The emotional buying motive is buying because we want something to do. We’re buying it because it’s the most fun to do it. The rational buying motive is buying because we’re motivated by something else. We might also buy to have something that we want to see happen next.
The difference between emotional and rational buying motives is the difference between the pleasure and pain of buying. When you’re buying something, you’re really not buying. This is an oversimplification but it also doesn’t capture the point. There is a difference between emotional buying and rational buying. Emotional buying is when you are actually buying something because you care about the product. This could be anything from a new TV to an expensive pair of shoes. It’s not the same thing as rational buying. You could rationally think, “I want a new TV and its a great way to spend $100.
The way that I’ve seen it defined, rational buying is when you buy something because you are consciously deciding to buy it. Whether that is by spending money or by deciding you want it based on what other people say about the product or how you feel about it. Emotional buying is when you are buying something because you are emotionally bonded to the product. This could be anything from a new TV to an expensive pair of shoes. Its not the same thing as rational buying.
The difference is that rational buying is conscious decision that you have made. Emotional buying is a decision you have made without the conscious thinking. Its a decision based on feelings. Its a decision that was made without even thinking.
